Notes
- This calculator uses a binary search algorithm to solve for the interest rate that produces the specified payment amount.
- The fiscal year summary automatically allocates interest across fiscal year boundaries based on the number of days in each period.
- If the payment amount is too low to amortize the loan over the specified term, the calculator will alert you to increase the payment.
- The calculator handles any combination of compounding and payment frequencies (e.g., monthly payments with semi-annual compounding).
- All calculations account for the exact number of days between payments when allocating interest to fiscal years.
- The fiscal year-end summary is particularly useful for preparing T5 slips, financial statements, and corporate tax returns.
- Results are formatted in Canadian currency (CAD) with two decimal places.
